The Cognative Brew House is a new local, family owned and operated coffee shop and retail store for our mountain bike and outdoor apparel business, Cognative MTB. We will specialize in serving fresh craft coffees, traditional espresso beverages, specialty teas, local beer, wine and light eats in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We also will feature a full offering of our high-quality mountain bike, cycling and outdoor apparel. 

Job Description:

The Cognative Brew House Store Manager will be responsible for all day-to-day operations of the Brew House and leading all team members in the efficient and profitable operation of the store. The manager will maintain high store standards and conditions, foster a positive working environment that provides consistent fast, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly service. The manager will work closely with the owners to create and manage the menu, ensure profitability, and foster growth in both profitability and the culture of The Cognative Brew House.

This position is perfect for someone with a barista background who would like to take their career to the next level. The candidate should bring solid barista experience to the table, but we are willing to train the right person in management duties.

Job Duties:

• Set a positive tone and strong work ethic, leading by example
• Train and educate your team for all duties in daily operation to include beverage and food preparation as well as retail sales and maintaining a clean, organized and efficient store and operations. Provide ongoing support and training to your staff.
• Manage the barista hiring and scheduling, working with availability and shift preferences as much as possible
• Manage reporting and cash for the business to include bank runs for deposits and change
• Be proactive in solving customer problems and be willing to sacrifice “being right” in return for a continued healthy relationship with the customer
• Ensure all team members provide customers with efficient, friendly and excellent service on a consistent basis.
• Maintain a clean and well merchandised store
• Plan for and create seasonal drink menus, specials, new food and beverage product releases
• Manage equipment maintenance schedule
• Manage ordering of products and purchasing errands
• Respond to store emails and phone inquiries
• All unlisted store management duties with training and support by owner.
• Work alongside your staff to prepare food and beverages, sell merchandise and provide an outstanding customer service experience.
• Educate customers and employees about coffee. Help customers find beverages they enjoy.

Qualifications:

• Prior full-service coffee shop barista experience required; management experience preferred.
• Retail experience a plus
• Must be able to maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
• Must be willing to perform any task you would ask of your staff. Management is not above any duties, and you’ll find the owners lead with the same willingness to pitch in and do whatever is necessary to ensure a successfully running store.
• Excellent intrapersonal skills with a focus on customer service. Must enjoy interacting with a wide variety of personalities. This role requires constant interaction with team members and the public. Ideal for an outgoing, friendly and hospitable person.
• Excellent time management skills, organizational skills, and administration skills
• Must be able to be on your feet for hours at a time, and to lift up to 50 lbs.

Compensation:          

This is a full-time position paid hourly at $18-$22/hour depending on experience. In addition, there is opportunity for quarterly bonuses/profit sharing based on overall store sales performance.
