About Us
Situated in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western NC, Cognative MTB was founded in December 2017 with the aim of creating premium rider-inspired apparel for those immersed in trail life. Our apparel, designed for fit, function, and durability, is trail-tested in Pisgah National Forest and Dupont State Forest.
At Cognative, we prioritize a seamless riding experience with our Ride Life Guarantee, allowing you to focus on the trail, not what you wear.
In 2021, we expanded our vision by acquiring a 4-acre property adjacent to our old office. Responding to the growing demand for a retail store, we transformed this space into the "Cognative Compound," featuring the Cognative Ride House Airbnb and Cognative Brew House – our retail store and high-end coffee shop. Now, you can stay, shop, and sip all in one location! The Cognative Brew House has evolved into a community hub in Hendersonville, NC, offering locally roasted coffees, baked goods, craft beer, and an array of Cognative MTB apparel.
From our humble garage beginnings, we've always given back to public land trails with every sale. Through our 2% For The Trails Program, we've proudly donated over $80,000 to non-profit trail clubs nationwide. In 2021, we launched our Custom Mountain Bike Apparel program, supporting dozens of trail clubs in fundraising and raising awareness for their vital work. As proud sponsors of the NC NICA league, we back their Teen Trail Corp initiative, educating student-athletes about trail advocacy and maintenance.
