Weed Patch Mountain Trail is a rare gem. Newly constructed with a landscape that includes big rock outcrops, boulder fields, a cave and trout streams that were all artfully integrated with an emphasis on conservation and sustainability of the land as well as a varied outdoor recreation user experience. In this region of temperate rain forest, Weed Patch Mountain Trail dries quickly affording excellent riding opportunities when other trails are still too wet to ride.

Conserving Carolina has orchestrated a broad and impressive coordination of public and private partnerships including; Carolina Climbers Coalition, REI, Chimney Rock State Park, the Town of Lake Lure and more, creating a unique user experience. Weed Patch Mountain Trail has the look and feel of a back country, remote experience even though it is close to the urban centers of Asheville and Charlotte, NC as well as Greenville, SC. The trail traverses a beautiful ridge line with spectacular views from several prominent points such as Grey Rock as well as the sustainable rock climbing face on Eagle Rock.

Weed Patch Mountain Trail is one of the MTB accessible sections of the NC state legislature designated, and soon to be completed, Hickory Nut Gorge State Trail. Future plans include back country primitive campsites that could provide a one of a kind bikepacking experience. Access from the Eagle Rock end provides a fun, flowy and sometimes rowdy mostly downhill experience, while access from Buffalo Creek park affords an out and back for the hardy.

Great shirt

Great quality, awesome company to support.

Biking and BEYOND!

I bought these for biking but they quickly evolved into my preferred travel pant. I have the wine colour (that doesn't seem to be available any longer). I keep coming back to look for new colours, so I'm buying my second pair in black today.
Since they are designed for a flexed-hip position, they are great for sitting in a plane. They are warm, but not too hot, even when it's warm outside. Ticks and poison ivy love me, so I will stay covered even if sweating. They are stain resistant for turbulence. They are great for hiking (see photo: Beehive in Acadia) The side zips are big enough for your passport, phone, sunnies, a small snack and that trail map all folded up because you won't have reception. I get compliments every time I wear these, usually in airport lounges where seasoned travelers are in awe of my pockets.
If I could make one suggestion: more colours please. Navy, dark taupe, even high vis colours for hunting season. Paisley? Yes please! Plaid? Hell ya!

Big Booty Boys, Rejoice!

I bought and returned over $800 worth of shorts from Backcountry. In the end, I couldn't find any shorts that would fit my big thighs and glutes without leaving a massive waist gap. By having adjustments on both sides, these shorts were able to cinch the waist inches down without creating a massive fold like shorts with only a single adjustment do. I'm not sure if I like the button, but overall I'm just glad to have found such a good looking pair of shorts that fit, and the price is great.

AWESOME!!!!!!!!

I literally just got a pair of the mtb pants delivered today and tried them on. I’m 6”3 and ordered a 42 waist and man I kinda wish I would have sized down to the 40 or even 38 waist but I’m keeping them because they are just to comfortable to send back. They are very high quality stretch material and the side zippers both tuck away and the button up crotch is a really night quality button and a solid crotch zipper. I didn’t want to order more than one pair just cause I’m so used to sending mtb clothes back for a refund but not this time!!!! So now I’m gonna order a couple more pairs and size down one size!!! Cognitive just got them a life customer with me.

Love the color and pattern

I actually bought this because of the color (love green!) This one is a little more loose than the women’s model but still great for a relaxed shirt on the commute or gravel ride. Great quality on the stretchy fabric. Adore it. Bring more colors/patterns for the ladies version!
